How does spray tanning work? Procedures, Precautions, Preparation for Sunless Tans

Before Tan Care: Make sure to exfoliate your entire body prior to your spray tanning session. Please stay away from exfoliates containing oils. They can leave an oily residue on the skin. Wax and shave 24hrs before. If you forget to shave 24 hours prior to your spray tan please shave 24 hours after your tan. Any body lotion, deodorant, make-up or jewelry must be removed before spray tan. It is extremely important to make sure you have clean, dry and exfoliated skin prior to your spray tanning appointment. Exfoliating Tip If you do not have an exfoliating body scrub to use before your appointment, here is an easy exfoliating treatment that works better than most store bought products for no cost. Get a cup of brown sugar and mix it with your favorite body wash or anything that you have on hand. This tip works great, leaving your skin feeling amazing! Clothing: During the spray tanning session you have the option of wearing a swimsuit or nothing at all. The preference is yours whether you want tan lines or no tan lines. If you choose to wear undergarments during the spray tan application, please make sure all clothing is dark in color. Avoid white swimsuits or white undergarments! The best part of the appointment experience, is that you can relax in the comfort of your own home. No more worry about messing up your new tan by having to get in the car too soon after the spray tan. Now you can relax around your home in a robe or loose fitting clothing until you feel ready to finish

the rest of the day. It is very important that the skin not rub on clothing until the solution has had time to be absorbed into the skin. Please allow yourself at least 15 to 20 minutes to completely dry before running any errands, work ect. Also, please remember to stay away from water for at least 8 hrs for best results (between 1-4 hours is needed for Express Tan). Relax and enjoy the experience, set your appointment today! After Tan Care After your Spray Tanning session, clothing must be loose and dark in color. NO JEANS or fitted shoes!! Avoid all light colored clothing after your tan, until you have showered. The bronzer will rub off on your clothes but should be easily washed out. Nylon, silk, spandex and wool tend to absorb the bronzer, so please avoid these fabrics. Clothing that is too tight and rubs the new tan within the first few hours; this can alter the outcome of your tan. A loose fitting sundress darker in color is the perfect after tan garment. The Beautiful Bronzed Glow you have been waiting for takes 8-10 hours to completely develop. Be patient you will love the results! *To ensure the life of the tan, avoid any contact with water for at least 8 hours after the appointment. ** However, if you select a Express Tan you may shower between 1-4 hours after your spray tan session, depending on the color you want to achieve. After every shower, apply a great moisturizer within the first week. This is essential to enhance the longevity of the tan. Avoid any exfoliates and harsh loofahs etc. Also, avoid long hot showers, baths or Jacuzzi soaks. Excessive swimming can fade your spray tan faster. If you have swimming in your plans, please apply a waterproof sun block. The sun block usually protects the life of your spray tan when in water.

*Sunscreen must be applied when in the sun. Your spray tan is not a sunscreen or sun protectants. There is a misconception that a spray tan gives you a base color, this is false!
